Accident
Baldwin County Schools offers an accident plan through Voya Financial to protect you from unexpected accidents, since it can be difficult to plan financially for the unexpected. Even with medical insurance, you may still have to cover out-of-pocket costs after an accident. If you suffer from a fracture, dislocation, or other covered accidental injury, Accident Insurance can help offset unexpected medical expenses, such as emergency room bills, deductibles, and co-payments. When an unexpected injury happens, Accident Insurance helps offset costs not covered by medical.
This plan provides a benefit payable according to a schedule, and the funds may be used for any purpose.
This plan reimburses you for your actual medical expenses, and the benefit is paid directly to you. Coverage options are available for you, your spouse, and your dependent child(ren). It also includes a benefit for death, loss of limbs, hospital visits, and transportation by ambulance as a result of a covered accident. Refer to the plan summary below for more details.

Important Notes
- Employees and spouses are eligible regardless of age
- Coverage for eligible child dependent(s) is up to age 26
Exclusions Include:
- Participation in a felony or illegal activity
- An accident while the covered person is operating a motorized vehicle while intoxicated
- Suicide
- Alcoholism or drug abuse
- Racing
- Jumping, parachuting, or falling from any aircraft or hot air balloon
- Any sickness or declining process caused by sickness

Sports Accident Coverage
The Voya Accident plan pays an additional 25% of the Hospital Care, Accident Care, and Common Injuries benefits to a maximum of $1,000 if the covered accident is as a result of an organized sporting activity.
